Antique Flat Iron

Before electric steam irons were invented, the best way to iron your clothes was by using a heavy flat iron like this.  It had to be heated on a hot stove for each use. Made of cast iron with a star imprint on top of iron &  6 marked on the handle indicating it weighs 6 pounds.
