Canna
(Cannaacea)
Cannaacea
can bring a lush tropical look to any garden
with their large leaves
ranging from greens to bronze and many variations in between. Cannas can
be
grown nearly anywhere, but the rhizomes must be dug up and brought into
shelter to over-winter in non-temperate climates. The normally erect
stalks can
range in height from two feet or less on up to around ten feet, depending on the
variety and growing conditions. The blooms come in a brilliant range of
colors,
concentrating mostly in yellows, oranges, reds and pinks with many
variegations as well as solids.
