Creating Recycled Garden Art

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout. This incredible, not so tiny spider and web were hand crafted in Haiti from a 55 gallon oil drum that had been flattened and painstakingly cut by hand with a hammer and chisel. Haiti is a country with many artists but few raw materials.  What they did have was a huge number of used oil drums, so someone got the very good idea to re-purpose these ugly steel containers turning them into beautiful steel sculpture.
This is now a thriving art form in Haiti.

Here's another great example (below) of a spider and web recycled from heavy rusted wire and scrap metal.
